“We have friends who come to the event, so we enjoy watching them every year,” said Eva Shewaye of Hamden.

The event was also combined with the Apizza Feast food and drink festival which filled College Street with items from local pizzerias, restaurants and drink vendors.

“We have been gone for three years since the pandemic. We’re back and we’re back with a vengeance of wonderful pizzas, beers and community. It’s such a good time,” said Colin Caplan with Taste of New Haven, the group that organizes the festival.

Both events provide a boost to downtown businesses, but they also raise money for a youth cycling organization, the CT Cycling Advancement Program.
